TESL BATIK RUN 2015
The following are the basic entry requirements apply to participants :
1. 18 years and above for open men and women.
2. 10 - 17 years old for open junior.
3. Able-bodied and found to be healthy. ( We recommend that you inform your general pratitioner of your new activities)
4. Any participant with health problems must inform the organiser on prior notice.
5. All participant must be at the event-starting-area 30 minutes early than the starting time.
6. All participant must wear appropriate attire.
7. The participants are allowed (not compulsory) to wear any Batik material to show support to the event's theme.
The competition will be conducted according to the following :-
CATEGORIES
-Open men & women (18 years and above) (10 km)
-Open men & women (18 years and above) (5km)
-Open men & women (18 years and above) (5km)
-Open junior men & women (10 - 17 years old) (5km)

Other Rules and Regulation
A. Official finisher
- All finisher participants will get a "Certificate of Participation", medals and t-shirts.
- Prizes will go to the Top 3 winners in the event.
B. RUN
- Briefing ; on Saturday, 24th October 2015 (before the race)
- Participants must stay on the marked course. Short cuts are not permitted .If you get lost return to the last sighted marking.
- Participants may run or walk during the race.
- Participants may not crawl. (Participants will be deemed to be injured and extracted from the race course).
- Participants are not allowed to run with bare torso or bare foot.
- Participants must wear their race numbers on the front of their t-shirts during running.
- Support vehicles or pacers are strictly prohibited.
- Glass containers , headsets, headphones are strictly prohibited.
- The responsibility of keeping on the course rests with the competitor. Any competitor who appears to present a danger to themselves or others may not be removed from the competition.
- Littering is prohibited.
- The committee will not be liable for any injuries or deaths which occur before, during and after the race.
- The organiser and its representative shall not be held responsible for injury, death, damage, loss, delay, cost, expense, or inconvenience before, during and after.
C. GENERAL DISQUALIFICATION
Disqualification or a "GQ" is a penalty appropriate for a violation.
A disqualification will be signalled in the following manners.
a) Sounding of a whistle or horn or waving a flag.
b) Showing of a red card.
c)Calling of the participants name and yelling STOP in English.
d) The alphabet "DQ" will be initialled on the competitor's number and a red cross will be put.
e) This infringement will be subsequently reported back to race secretariat for the appropriate action to be taken . Committee's decision is final in determining removal/disqualification.
Reasons for disqualification
A competitor may be immediately disqualified without warning for the following :
- Consumption of alcohol, or other drugs 24 hours before the race.
- Consumption of performance enhancing stimulants.
- Refusing to follow rules and/or instructions of race officials.
- Failing to follow the prescribed course.
- Using abusive language or behaviour untoward/unbecoming towards any official, competitor or unsportmanike behaviour.
- Unfair contact. The fact that contact occurs between participants does not constitute a violation. When several participants are moving in a limited area, contact may occur. This incidental contact between participants in equally favourable positions is not a violation.
- Accepting assistance or seen to be accepting assistance either purpose fully or by default from any person or situation that arises other than a race official not limited to accepting assistance from a race official which constitute s an unfair advantage.
- Refusing to follow to follow the instructions of a race official.
- Departing the course for unseen reasons of safety but, failing to re-enter at the point of departure.
- Leaving equipment or discarding personal articles on the course.
- Wearing items deemed a hazard to self or others i.e : a hard cast, obtrusive jewellery, headsets and headphones.
- Using unauthorized equipment to provide any advantage or which will be dangerous to others.
- Violating traffic regulations.
- Blocking, charging, obstructing or interfering with the forward progress of another competitor.
Protests and Complaints
- Complaints or protest of being fouled by other participants or notices of violation or protest against that notice HAVE to be filed officially in writing to the Race Secretariat within 30 minutes of your completion of the event.
* Verbal complaints, protests or any of the above will NOT be entertained.
The organizing committee reserves the right to apply due discretion on a case-to-case basis.
The Race Directors and organising committee s' decision is final.
Attire
1. During the run for non-muslim (women), you need to wear head scarves or key to cover your
head.
2. You are not allowed to wear short pants but, you are allowed to wear 3/4 (three quarter) pants.
